SGN 5.50 installs slowness?

So, we've installed SGN onto different makes and models of laptops and some of them are running very slow.

-Chkdsks and defrags are part of our pre-install process and resulted in a clean report.

-freespace on the drive is not a question for these machines.

-All machines are newer machines either on Windows XP SP3

-Mice, docking stations, keyboards, and printers that are plugged vary if they were plugged in or not during install.

*slowness is defined in 2 specific ways:

-Either it's only slow at PoA interaction.  Once in the OS, it's fine.

-Other machines are noted to be slow from PoA through the entire time user is in the OS.

My Questions are:

1) What could cause this?

2) What can I do to minimize this issue?

3) What are the possible remedies to resolving this slowness issue?

  • Hi echo,

sorry for the late response due to holiday season.

Slow POA boot speed might be caused by the device enumeration and initiliazation, e.g. USB devices, docking stations, etc. That might explain your first problem. Did you use Fn keys for POA fine tuning?

For the second problem in Windows I have no idea.

It would be very helpful for us if you can give us more details on the hardware, e.g. computer model, one or two sample configurations with hardware (e.g. USB devices, hard disk type, available RAM), as well as speed comparisons. Do you use smartcards?

    With compliments,
