Windows 7 sporadically Slow welcome screen

 Some users have sporadically slow windows welcome screen, sometimes hitting ctrl+alt+del seems to push it through. Only affects computers with Sophos Safeguard 6.10.0.372 installed

    Hello Daniel,

    If the users have got to the Windows Welcome screen then SafeGuard has already decrypted the disk for Windows to load. I would suggest looking at the following:

    • Adding more RAM (if possible)
    • Replacing the hard drive with an SSD (if possible)
    • Upgrading the Server and Clients to SafeGuard version 8 (6.10 is two version behind the latest version)
    • Upgrading the OS to Windows 10 Pro and using BitLocker in combination with the above

    Windows 7 is about 7 years old now and 6.10 was written some time ago so there may be issues with things like Windows Updates or new BIOS updates too.
