SafeGuard Enterprise - Decrypt Hard Drive

SafeGuard Enterprise - Decrypt Hard Drive After I installed the SGE Client, my machine was placed in the .Auto-Registered Group. The Group had a policy that encrypted my hard drive. I have since moved the machine to a new group that has and new policy of "No Encryption", however The USER MAY DECRYPT FILES setting is Grayed out and I don't seem to be able to decrypt the drive. - In Windows explorer on the encrypted machine the C: Drive appears with a Green Key icon - Right click the Drive - File Encryption Menu shows Show encryption status - Gen Info: No Encryption Policy Set for Drive C: & None of the Selected Files are Encrypted - Properties of C: - Encryption Tab - Media Encrypted is Check and Grayed Out I did see David's Post here: but I didn't see a program named c:\>SGMCmdIntn.exe -s I would like to Decrypt the Hard Drive but I'm apparently not doing something correctly. Any Help would be appreciated Thanks Sean

  • Sean,

Do you have a policy set that allows users to decrypt their volumes?  Setting "No Encryption" in the policy is not enough, you actually have to allow decryption before you can decrypt.

Check out Dave's post further into that thread.  He goes into detail how you're supposed to decrypt a volume:
