Change the domain sequence in the POA?

Hello, i have a elementary question?

Is it possible to change the domain sequence in the POA-Authentification. As default value is chosen the local computer.

I would like to define the default value -> domain.

  • Hi Johannes,

The default value in POA is the last domain or hostname used for authentication. For example, if you login to POA using a local account and the hostname, upon reboot, the hostname will be the default. If you login to POA using a domain account and the domain selected in POA, upon reboot, the domain will be the default.

Does that help and make sense?

If your question means to change the order of presentation in the domain selection dropdown, then unfortunately that is not configurable.

  • Hi David,

    thank you for your advise.

The senario what you describe is good and makes sense.

But under Windows 7 i logged me in as an domain user, after a restart the local computer is again the default value.

The policys are so confiurated, that a login with ID/Password and Fingerprint are possible. In my case the FP isn't configurated with FP login credentials on this lenovo notebook (i get also the dialog "that no FP datas are available").

Have you got any throughts, to fix this problem?

    BR,

    Johannes

  • Hi Johannes,

I believe we are getting closer to the root of the matter. SGN 5.40 does support Windows 7 32-bit, but in a limited capacity. One of the items not supported, until SGN 5.50 is released, is the Lenovo FPR and TVT. I have to suggest in the meantime that you disable using the FPR at POA with Windows 7 installed.

Regarding the default value, this might be because you are using the authentication provider for Windows 7 rather than the SGN credential provider. While at the Windows login prompt (after a fresh reboot and not after a logout, so disable passthrough to Windows are POA) login using another user AND make sure it's the icon with the key hole. Using our credential provider will generate the certificate needed to be used at POA.

Please let us know your results.

  • Hi DSchwartzberg,

    i had solved this problem.

I updated of the new SGN 5.50 version and set below Policy Item->Authentication->Activate user/domain preselection of  "Yes".

Now it works great, thanks for all advises.

    Best Regards,

    Johannes
