Safeguard Enterprise 5.6, DataExchange and write permissions to removable media

Ever since my colleague installed SafeGuard Enterprise 5.6 client with DataExchange, he has been unable to write to any usb thumbdrive. He is listed as owner in Safeguard. Guests cannot write to usb from his machine either. He is a domain administrator. Any ideas?

  • usb Policy uses file based encryption (no volume based policy settings apply). Initial Encryption of all files is set to no. Forbid guest user is not configured, defaults to allow guest users. User can neither read existing encrypted files, nor write to the drive. The only exception is if he writes to the 'plaintext' folder created for a different user using a different policy. All usb policies encrypt using the root key.
