Good afternoon
I would like to know why it is not supported Configuration Protection in Standalone computers.
Thanks in advanced,
Dolores

Hi Dolores,
I have double checked your request with Product Management and this is where we are:
At the moment SafeGuard Enterprise Configuration Protection module is designed as a client server application and therefore not usable in unmanaged environments.
Main reason for this design decision is the fact, that it is possible to bring a client into a status where uninstalling the product would not be possible any more. For example if the initial policy was set “Uninstallation allowed = No” and “Block all USB devices = Yes” > no policy could be rolled out to the client any more.
Due to this risk the decision was not to include Configuration Protection in the unmanaged part of the product. However, research tasks are already on-going to evaluate the possibilities to enable Configuration Module for unmanaged installations as well. Unfortunately there is no timeline as when this will be completed or when changes will be carried out to the product. For information on this please check the roadmap for any changes via your Sophos sales agent.
I hope that explains the decision. If you require the function at your end I would suggest to contact you Sales agent and get them contact PM for further discussion if required.
Regard
Dan
