SDE for Mac and Apple OS X update to 10.6.5 supported

Recent news has come out about competitive products encrypting Mac OS X 10.6.5 having bricked the computer.

Before any posts of concern arise from our Mac encrypted user community or anyone considering Sophos Disk Encryption for Mac I felt it important that I share my findings.

If you are already on Mac OS X 10.6.4 and you are unsure about upgrading to 10.6.5, I want you to feel confident that you can click on "Software Update..." while maintaining encryption. This was based on how Sophos designed SDE for Mac.
