"Error in the application" when creating new Configuration Package Tool

Hello guys,

I've installed the trial version Sophos SafeGuard version 6 Policy Editor on a Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) server.

After the policy setup, I hit the Tool button from meny bar, Configuration Package Tool and get the error: "Error in the application" Nothing else, no hit Eventvwr and I don't find any logs related to SafeGuard.

Anybody any tips?

Are you running the policy editor natively on a server OS? If so you might need to give it a DEP exclusion and make sure you run it as an administrator in server 2008 specifically, just because you're logged in as a local or domain administrator doesnt mean the GUI program you're running as the same rights. Sometimes running security programs of any kind on a server OS like server 2008 does funny things and you have to do BOTH of the above to get it working, I'm not an expert on the policy editor, just what seems might be the obvious answer.
