Hi All, I am currently in the process of writing an upgrade plan to update our Safeguard infrastructure from 5.35 to 5.50. There is a few questions I wanted to put out there to help me out a little.
1./ Clients - Models installed = Authentication,SecureDataExchange,BaseEncryption,SectorBasedEncryption ) am I right in saying that I just need to install the SGxClientPreInstall.msi and then the SGNClient550.msi msi's??? I am looking to package this up via Altiris and roll out across the board after the backend has been upgraded. If anyone has successfully done it this way or had any issues it would be nice to know.
2./ SQL Server - our current DB sits on a SQL 2000 box so I am going to migrate this over to another SQL box. There is an SQL 2008 R2 box that I was planning on moving to but I see no mention of R2 being in the compatibility list? Is this supported? also will it be okay to temporaly put the current database for 5.35 onto a 2008 box? i take it the clients will not need anything changing?
Those are the main points im slightly concerned with for now but if anyone has any other pointers then I would appreciate it. im also interested in what new features 5.50 has over 5.35 such as the self help and the web portal?
Thanks again
Tom
