Safeguard Easy - various questions

Hello,

we're forced to change to Safeguard 5 because of some new laptops (Win7, x64) not working any longer with SGE 4.5.

With the old product we had the ability to manage some tasks with a server installed console (configuration changes, current state, etc.). As I understand we now unable to do this or we have to buy SG Enterprise, correctly ?

Further on, with SGE I would like to know the current state of

* which user is able to login to which machine?

* are the local drives encrypted?

How can I check these topics ?

Thanks and best regards

Stefan

  • Hi Stefan.

Thank you very much for posting.

With regards to your description I can confirm that the SafeGuard Easy 5.x does not have any central reporting by default. This is a feature of the fully managed SafeGuard Enterprise. In there you can also see the encryption state and the user machine assignment for each machine.

However, it would also be possible to use SGNState.exe to gather machine related information on a client. This could then for example be safed on a network share and evaluated?

Actually I would recommend that you contact your sales person so that they can arrange a product demonstration of SafeGuard Enterprise so that you can compare both products.

The above information certainly do not cover the whole topic but answering all questions in all details would exceed the capacity of this thread ;)

    Regards

    Dan
