backup of my laptop

i used to use acronis to take a full disk backup of my machine periodically. since my company installed the safeguard. i cannot image backup my  disks anymore.

what options do i have to backup my machine?

i have safeguard 5.35 encrupting my HDD with xp on it.

    Hi David,

    I'm trying to set up a SafeGuard Enterprise installation for one of our customers.

    The server is already installed with a demo license and I'm within the testing phase at the moment.

    Im going to encrypt up to 10 laptops, but before I need to know whats the best practice for backing up SafeGuard Enterprise protected laptops. They use Windows XP/Windows 7 in a 50:50 ratio, thats why I thought about the windows backup as a good sollution (though we're going to update the Windows XP sooner or later, I would use Lenovos Rescue & Recovery in the meantime)

    I've read (in this KB http://www.sophos.de/support/knowledgebase/article/67375.html) , that backup applications using volume shadow copies are not supported, and I can agree with that because I tried to restore my test machine from a Windows 7 Image backup, but nothing happens except an error code (0x80070002).

    So the question is if its possible to do the Backup/Restore with Windows Backup (maybe with the help of the recovery CD, as you wrote in your post?) or can you suggest a sollution for backing up SafeGuard protected machines?

    Maybe the other board members got some experiences with this topic which they would like to share?
