backup of my laptop

i used to use acronis to take a full disk backup of my machine periodically. since my company installed the safeguard. i cannot image backup my  disks anymore.

what options do i have to backup my machine?

i have safeguard 5.35 encrupting my HDD with xp on it.

    Thank you for posting your question on the SophosTalk community forums.

    Great question! You need to use a backup solution that is reading the disk AFTER the SGN filter driver is loaded. That can happen either using a WinPE recovery disk (KBAs 110165 & 108805) or if your disk is configure to multi-boot with 2 Windows partitions, then you can install the runtime version of SGN 5.40 (see SGN_Installation Guide section 3.9 for installation).

    If you use a tool that loads before the OS or another OS without the SGN filter drivers you will be backing up or imaging every encrypted sector. The back up or imaging solutions don't know the difference between encrypted data or plaintext. SGN recovery discs (WinPE) or the runtime version do.
