We just recieved 4 Dell M6600 laptops with nvidia Quadro 4000M graphics cards in them. 3 are working OK but not perfect and one is not working well. The problem is Safeguard 5.50.1.11 is combating with the nvidia optimus bios technology. The optimus tech is supose to overlay and intermingle the onboard intel graphics with the nvidia graphics providing longer battery life. I say 3 are working ok because they have optimus enabled and battery life is great. This is just ok because you can not turn optimus off in the bios. If you do the system will not boot. However, if safeguard is removed the system will boot in optimus on or off mode no problems. The 4 system is my biggest problem I can not get optimus on with safeguard installed no matter what.
Does anyone have any insight to this problem? Whould 5.6 fix this?
