How to initiate Disk Encryption manually from the client ?

Hi All,

I've installed the Safeguard 5.50.8.13 on my Windows XP using a 3rd party software package deployment but then it doesn't kick off the encryption process ?

Is there any way to do the encryption process please ? because when I uninstall the Client using SGNRollback.exe the laptop will become totally useless (infinite reboot).

Any help please ?

  • In my environment (XP SP3, SGN 5.50.0.116), following the install, we need to reboot then logon, after which encryption starts.  If that doesn't work for you, confirm (from the tray icon) that your computer is receiving policies.  If so, and encryption still doesn't start, check your policies and the group membership of the computer in Management Center.

For reboot loops following SGNrollback, we have sometimes needed to run fixmbr from the XP recovery console (Windows XP SP3 boot disk, must have the storage drivers, slipstream as needed).
