Safeguard Encryption-changing endpoint users

I have safeguard policy editor setup on our domain. Laptops have 5.50 installed.

My question is,After Sophos SafeGuard has been installed and the Power-on Authentication (POA) has been
activated, how do i change the user of a laptop so they can be authenticated successfully logon on to the laptop.

One of our endusers has left the company and so the laptop has been given to a new member of staff. What do i need to change to allow this new staff to logon to this laptop.

Many thanks in advance.

Rob

  • Hi Rob

In the management centre, Under ‘‘‘‘Users and Computers’’’’ section

Find the computer in the list, Under the ‘‘‘‘User’’’’ tab.

Drag and Drop the user onto the machine.

    SAVE

If he is the owner of the machine, select the tick box indicating he will be the owner

    The on the machine:

The first user (who was using the machine) will need to login @ the POA ,

[Ensure Pass through to windows is disabled]

Then at the GINA login as the new added user.

This will create a certificate and sync. at the next boot the new staff member will be able to login at the POA
