SGE0101 Cannot read configuratoin file

Hello,

Out of nowhere i get this error when i finish the setup of Safeguard easy 4.11 on XP notebooks.

I know we are using an old version but we still have many keys and we are using the higest version of Easyguard (state secret encryption)

It always worked but lately i get this error on everynotebook i want to encrypt and i have used several different keys.

I searched the whole sophos site but there is no reference found ont his particular error.

What configuration file is meant by this error? The sgeXXX.key? or a config.ini file from sophos?

I am using the exact same installation procedure for each notebook and it never game me any errors or problems. But now out of the blue it gives me this error on the end of the setup. Just before it reboots and starts to encrypt.

  • Hi Just-ID,

actually the error message usually references to the SafeGuard Easy configuration file (cfg) that is usd to install the product. Unfortunately I have not heard of any of the other tools of files that you mentioned in your description.

I think the best thing would be if you open a new call at the help desk - when doing so please provide the install call (msiexec) that you using to install the product.

So far I have not seen the error message before

    Regards
    Dan

  • Hi Dan,

I talked to a dutch Sophos employee and he told me that the version we use, is a special state/governement version

This Safeguard version we use, does not work with a install.cfg file instead we have special sgexxxx.sge keys

which should be placed in a certain map during installation.

I placed the key in the correct map, and this was always working fine until now.

Appearently there is someting wrong with the key's.

    Thanks anyway.
