SGE and SQL2008

We have been asked if its possible to upgrade our enterprise SQL server from 2005 to 2008 without breaking the SafeGuard database.

I have checked the requirements in the SEC documentation but can only find SQL2005 mentioned.  Can anyone tell me if this is possible let alone supported, as I have only just lovingly created and deployed to our environment.

Thanks

    Hi SyrianHamster!!

    Please remember to backup your database prior to the upgrade to MS SQL 2008. Yes, you should be able to upgrade MS SQL Server 2005 to 2008.

    As a side note for anyone else, you can upgrade SQL Express 2005 or 2008 to the full version of MS SQL 2005 or 2008 (Standard or Enterprise). I've done that when it was only the same year version and it went well. Meaning

    Express 2005 -> 2005   or

    Express 2008 -> 2008

    I've never upgraded SQL Express 2005 to MS SQL 2008. Has anyone ever done that with success?
