Sophos SafeGuard 6.0 - Recovering Server

Hello,

Since Sophos SafeGuard does not support high avaiabililty, what if the SafeGuard server crashes but I have updated backup of database, Master Security Officer Certificate and Server Certificate.

Assume one of laptop is encrypted with XYZ key. And SGN server is down. and i want to decrypt it.

How can I build new server on another server using  " updated backup of database, Master Security Officer Certificate and Server Certificate" ?

I have tried restore the database in new computer and used MSO certificates.... server installs perfectly. But my clients do not connect to this server even if I make new package from this new server.

PLease HElp...

  • I'm not sure who/what/what/when/why/where/ you got this information but I can tell you that this is wrong.  Sophos SafeGuard 6 does indeed support high availability with SQL Clustering because we have it set up that way.  We have two physical database servers with plants for more and are going live with 6000+ clients soon so failover is required.  We're using SQL Server 2008 R2 with single instance active-passive failover with a fully redundant replicative SANS on the backend.  We're using this setup in our enterprise production environment RIGHT NOW!  I've fully tested the SQL server failover with multiple IIS frontends to handle the client traffic and as long as your configuration msi file was set up with multiple hosts correctly and your SSL CA trusts were set up EVERYTHING JUST WORKS!  Sophos SafeGuard 6 is cluster aware and I have it from our implementation engineer this is not only supported but reccomended for customers at our level.
