decrypt help

Hello

We have a problem. We have a computer installed xp and safeguard 4.11. But it had a lot of viruses and even we tried to save the datas we couldnt. So i thought that if i install a new windows i will be able to save datas but i didnt count with the safeguard. So when i tried to install a new xp it said that error loadong operating system. If there is some solution for this?

I tried to repair with the rescue disk but i couldnt. We know the password for Safeguard so the only problem is to put back the system somehow or save the datas somehow. Thanks

    Hi Ferenc,

Thank you for posting your question in the SophosTalk community forum. I'm having trouble understanding your situation, but it sounds like you tried to install XP over a SGE 4.11 encrypted drive. This resulted in replacing the MBR which means you cannot load XP. Is that correct?

If so, hopefully you have an Emergency Recovery Disk and a kernel backup. If you don't have the disk you can get it here. Again, not knowing much about your environment, this KBA "Access to encrypted data on extended partition after operating system had been re-installed" might be helpful. If not, I suggest calling Sophos Technical Support.
