computer frozen

hello,

i have downloaded a trail version of Sophos safeguard for windows Vista. after installing my pc must restart en sinds then it won't start at all. when i hit the power butten all my screens say; Sophos safeguard is starting, please wait.

but afther two hours it still doing nothing........

anyone suggestions?

  • I would suggest trying the hotkeys, as this knowlegebase article explains:

    I've seen lockups like yours fixed with the ATA hotkey (Shift + F6), so that would be the first I would try.

  • mij desktop is working good now. i didnt try sophos anymore, i am now working with a other virusprogram.

    Thank you for posting back about the resolution you found.

    I was hoping you can help me understand the source of your computer freeze. Was it because you installed SafeGuard? Or was it because you installed SafeGuard with Sophos Anti-Virus? I have a couple computers in my lab running both SafeGuard Device Encryption and Sophos AV without computer freezes. Since we fully QA our encrption solutions with our endpoint protection solutions, I'm getting a feeling that the source of the computer freeze is something else.

    Can you double-check the root cause by installing Sophos AV on your computer again? TIA.
