SafeGuard Easy, after installation, remains in "Autologon"

Hello,

after installation, pre-installation -> Client -> configuration, and after the second reboot, the workstation (HP EliteBook 8530p) does not stop for the POA, but goes/remains in Autologon every time. The harddisk encryption will complete, but we will not get to the POA to choose a POA account or a Windows account. Via the Autologon it logs on to the windows (admin) account which was used for the installation.

On the first laptop, all same brand/type, things worked out OK. But the 2nd and the 3th have this behaviour.

We started with 5.50.0.116, which works fine on the first one, and by now also tried 5.50.1.117, but the behaviour remains the same.

The operating system on the laptops is Vista SP1.

Any clue what causes the 'installation' to remain in Autologon???

In addition the Sophos SafeGuard Client Status shows as "SGN User state: SGN guest" on the ones remaining in Autologon. Whereas the laptop whichs is working OK shows "SGN User state: SGN User"

  • Hi Andy,

thank you very much for bringing this one up.

Can you please ensure that you are logging on to Windows using the SafeGuard Enterprise credential provide rather than the Windows one. It might be required to disable to automatic logon to Windows for this.

Another solution would be to authenticate to authentication application which should come up as soon as you are entering windows.

There are further information on the different credential provider in the admin manual which might help you as well.

In case that this does not help please be so kind and raise a call with the helpdesk.

    Regards
