Install SMC & EFi Firmware Updates

Hi,

I'm using Sophos SafeGuard 05.50 on my Mac and have a couple of Firmware updates via Apple Software Update that needs to be applied with my machine fully encrypted. How do I ge them installed as when I do it normally they fail to install after a reboot.

Do I have to uninstall SafeGuard first?
