Any Known issues with Sophos encryption software and active directory migration (to new AD domain)

Currently we use the product utimaco (which was bought by Sophos). I am currently in planning phase of an Active Directory migration for our subsidiary companies (all with thier own domain) to jooin our global domain. This will require creating a TRUST between the domain, migrating the user accounts and computer accounts, and then dissolving the TRUST and deleting the old domain.

My question; will there be issues with the Sophos encryption software?

I know that there are no issues with bitlocker in Win 7 and Vista, but there are issues with EFS in Vista.

Can anyone shed some light on this. I am getting ready to begin testing workstations, but wanted to ask for advice first.

Thanks

Kerry

  • Hi Kerry,

thank you very  much for submitting your post. Actually it is possible to have multiple Domains in one SafeGuard Management Center, but when you move a machine from one Domain to another the machine will fall into Autologon Mode for one reboot and all User / Machine assignments will be deleted at this point on that particular machine.

The user that logs on to the machine after the Domain move will then become the owner of the machine just as normal.
