Safeguard Enterprise 5.5 - Bad clusters under Windows 7

According to this:

http://www.sophos.com/support/knowledgebase/article/108744.html

it is normal that Safeguard introduces bad clusters which are visible with chkdsk.

I did not know about that and I ran chkdsk c: /b, and windows recovered some bad clusters. Now I have 65MB not 98MB. Does it mean that I harmed my safeguard installation?

  • Hello,

Thanks for the answer. The meaning of this reply is the following: using standard operation in windows (chkdsk /b) one can potentially damage the installation of SafeGuard and you recommend re-installating.

My suggestion is simply making chkdsk /b safe so the user does not care if it is allowed or not. SafeGuard should be here transparent to the end user.
