Decrypt SGE drive with corrutped windows

Hi,

I have Safeguard Easy installed on my windows xp laptop. For some reason my windows got corrupted, such that now I can start bootign windows but after a while the system crashes. I would like to get my data from the HDD. How can I decrypt the HDD without booting windows?

Thanks,

Arne Kant

    Hi Arne,

Thank you for posting your question in the Sophos community forums. I have a couple questions for you about your environment before I can make a suggestion on how to remedy.

    1. Which version of SGE are you using? Include all the version points (for example: 4.5.152).

    2. Did you get a kernel or key backup?

    3. Have you created a recovery CD or memory?

    4. Which hardware manufacturer (make and model)?

    5. Are you using the pre-boot authentication (PBA or POA)?
