blue screen of death..any issue with sophos safeguard encryption and HP Probook 6450b?

Hi,

Like to check on the compatibility for HP Probook 6450b and Sophos safeguard usb encryption?

Apparently there seems to be more and more users encountering BSOD reported in our organization. These users are using the notebook mentioned above and have sophos installed.

Most of the time when the user plugs in their removable media, the files in the media are not reflected. Users tried to click onto the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon but could not see the  media connected.

Thus when they unplug it from the notebook,BSOD appears and they would have lost the data in their media.

Appreciate anyone who has encountered similar issues or has any solutions..

Thanks in advanced.

  • Hi Athena79,

thank you very much for submitting the request and welcome to the forum!

With regards to your description I can tell you that there is no known general issue with SafeGuard Enterprise and Removable Media on any kind of hardware! (I assume that we are talking about SafeGuard Enterprise since you haven't specified the product)

In you case it would be good to know if there are any other applications installed that might cause an issue especially since the USB drive is obviously not recognized at all in the system. Furthermore it would be very helpful if you could say if there is any stop code coming up and what the reference is?

Eventually it might be best to open a new call with the local help desk to further analyze this issue if you feel that it is really related to a SafeGuard product.

    Regards
