Issues after installing build 29 patch

Hello,

After installing the build 29 patch, two products we use have developed an issue.

SGN ver 8.1 (8.10.2.55) Hotfix 1901 installed client and server

First off, Autodesk Revit

The application loads but accessing files from the server pop up a message saying the file is an older version and needs to be updated from 2009 to 2020. This is a file created in 2020, 2009 never existed on the client PC or in the organisation.

Secondly, 28 Hands Mail Manager (email filing Outlook plug-in)

The issue is around the searching. You open the search window, it displays any emails that fit your search criteria and you have permission to access but when you try and open a message, Outlook displays a message saying it can't open it - it's either open or you don't have permissions to open.

On both issues, rolling back to patch 28 fixes it.

I have already added Revit and Mail manager into ignored applications and the file server locations in question have been added into the file encryption policy as an ignore mode.

Apart from grabbing SDU logs from effected clients, is there anything else that will assist in diagnosing the issue with Sophos?

Has anyone here experienced any issue like this either?

Thanks, Ollie

  • Hi

The case has been escalated to Global escalation engineer and they have already found an issue with the File Encryption Engine build 29 and because of that, they have withdrawn build 29.

For more information, please refer to this article. We'll keep you updated on this issue. As of now, they have suggested using File Encryption Build 28 instead of 29.
