is there a proven way to upgrade the backend from 8.0 to 8.1

I could only find a post regarding the clients but not to the backend

    Upgrade of SafeGuard Management Center, SafeGuard Enterprise Server and Database is certainly possible from 8.0 to 8.1. Here is the documentation that should help you get through this.
