Telemetry connections Sophos Home premium

Hi

What is the reason Sophos uses the telemetry processes in Sophos Home premium?

It found 2 telemetry processes: 

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Telemetry\GatherTelem.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\HitmanPro.Alert\EXPTelem.exe

Another process started later on: C:\program files (x86)\sophos\autoupdate\telemetry\submittelem.exe making connection to IP-address 13.32.159.99 (points to an Amazon server in Germany).

    I reached out to the Sophos Home dev team and confirmed that the telemetry information gathered is the same as the business side. For more information on what's being collected, please take a look at this article:

    Telemetry data collection

    I have also confirmed that you can follow the article to disable telemetry if you wish to (the steps are listed at the bottom of the document).
