Bad throughput after 9.30*

Found a work around:

on the interfaces from the zone's / ssids change the MTU from 1500 to 1300
this wil solve you're troughput.

teston AP10 and AP30 and works
test on UTM and SG hardware

Yes, the MTU change worked for me when I tested on my MacBook, but not on my phones, Android.

Set it to 1400 works fine here with s5

I just tested today with:

UTM 9.302-2
1 x AP50

WAN Link 100/20Mbit

MTU 1500:

DL: 0,23Mbit
UL: 18,71Mbit

MTU 1400:

DL: 25,57Mbit
UL: 3,46Mbit

MTU 1300:

DL: 29Mbit
UL: 10,10Mbit

MTU 1498: (Did this for test also)

DL: 27,03Mbit
UL: 19,22Mbit

So this MTU actually gives the best result - BUT this definately needs a fix [:)]

Above tested with iPhone 6 and Ookla Speedtest.

I will link this post to the UTm 9.3 Beta forum, I hope they will see it :-)

I don't understand where you set the MTU - command line for the SSID/wlanx or the External interface?

Interfaces & Routing -> Interfaces
Choose Edit on the wlan interface
It is under Advanced

Thanks, Jörgen, I never thought of looking at the wlan# interface definitions to be able to change the MTUs in WebAdmin - just like the eth# interfaces. [:O]

I checked using my iPhone 6 and the SpeedTest app:

Connected to the wireless router (not going through the UTM): 23/2Mbps

UTM Version 9.302-2
Sophos AP 30 on eth0 (MTU 1500)
Connected to SSID Guest on wlan0 (MTU 1500): 2.21/2.07Mbps
Connected to SSID Guest on wlan0 (MTU 1490): 2.23/2.07Mbps
Connected to SSID Guest on wlan0 (MTU 1400): 2.21/2.07Mbps

Sophos AP 30 on eth0 (MTU 1490)
Connected to SSID Guest on wlan0 (MTU 1490): 2.22/2.06Mbps

Sophos AP 30 on eth0 (MTU 1400)
Connected to SSID Guest on wlan0 (MTU 1400): 2.21/2.07Mbps

Sophos AP 30 on eth0 (MTU 1500 and 1280)
Connected to SSID Guest on wlan0 (MTU 1280): 2.20/2.07Mbps
