Scanning file downloads

Last week I finally took the plunge and updated my firewall from ASG 8.x to UTM 9.106
I used a backup file for the upgrade and all seemed to work fine, except now I have a bit of an issue with all downloaded files being scanned.

In Web Protection > Web Filtering > Antivirus/Malware, Use Antivirus Scanning is not selected.
Naturally, I tried selecting it, saving then deselecting and saving, but this had no positive effect.

Before anyone jumps on me about not scanning files off the internet, let me say that I do before opening or running them. 
What I do not like is the UTM file download page not opening in a new tab, rather, opening over the page that had the download link which prevents me from doing anything else on that page until the file download finishes (unless I open that page in another tab myself).

A simple question... how do I disable the virus scanning of file downloads?

    What can I say, other than bloody Firefox!!!!

    You would think, like with other browsers, that you would get a warning message for pop-up windows, alerting you to the fact that there was one (or more) trying to open.
    Alas... that was not the case for me. I got no such notification.

    The fix was simple.
    All I had to do was add my firewall's IP address under Options > Content > Exceptions.

    Getting back on topic...
    I have just bought another box with a bit more grunt, so I will report back soon on any changes running UTM 9.1 on this box makes.

    I have now updated the machine I am running UTM 9.1 on.
    As a simple test, I downloaded a 100mb file. Sadly, I still get the UTM download window.

    A check of the UTM dashboard showed the processor running at about 3% and memory utilisation was around 33%.

    For files that size it is not surprising you get the download window it is more a bandwidth issue than hardware, why don't you decrease the file size for virus scanning?

    BigO what is your wan speed and what is the cpu ram type and speed of the new hardware?

    The PC is a 3Ghz Core 2 duo with 3Gb of RAM.
    Download speed is about 3Mbps.

    That's why..your wan speed is too slow...if you really don't want to see the scanning page reduce your scanning limit to 1 meg or less

    So William... unless I have the ability to download files instantaneously, which will obviously never happen, there would appear to be no way to disable the download manager page.

    As I have said... I don't really want to disable virus scanning, but I don't want to have the download manager page appear every time I download a file either.
    My biggest issue with the download manager page is that it opens over the page I was viewing. At the very least, there should be an option to have the download manager page open in a new window or tab.

    Not that I really want to do this, but as far as I can tell, you cannot reduce the scanning limit to less than 1Mb, unless you disable scanning completely.
