FTP and HTTP Proxy slow down with 7.401

I have upgraded from version 7.3xx to 7.401 and have noticed a performance drop with both FTP and HTTP Transparent Proxy. It does not matter if virus scanning is enabled or disabled. When proxy is enabled i get download speeds reaching 386 KB/s and with proxy disabled i get about 2.0 MB/s and it is very constant. I have also tried do do host exceptions on both proxies but i see no difference in speed as long as the network is enabled for proxy where the host i located, it is still very slow. I'm running astaro on a 3.4 Ghz P4 HT and CPU usage never goes above 5% memory usage is 30% of 2 GB. THis test was done using only one active client so it is no load issue. Running previous version i alway got full speed even with Proxy enabled.

Also if i enable Full Transparent mode Astaro won't let any traffic through proxy, has anyone else seen that behavior?

    Jaysion, have you seen the threads about turning off hyperthreading in the BIOS of the DL360?  Apparently, HT works well with Windows, but not always with Linux.

    With antivirus, dual 1 ghz cpu, 4 gig ram, 60 hard drive raided drives. 

    This is an older 1U DL360. I have a few of them sitting around. ASG normally works great running on this hardware. 

    No Hyper-threading turned on. (or available)

    Symptoms started out of the blue. (Normal trouble shooting has failed to resolve the issue)

    There are several threads here about hyperthreading.  It seems like it was one of the Aussies that solved a problem similar to yours by turning HT off in the BIOS.

    For giggles I cut down the virus scan from dual to single and then off... here are my numbers.

    Dual scan = 2.5 mb download / .5 mb upload
    Single scan = 6.6 mb download / 1 mb upload
    No scan (off) = 20 mb download / 1.5 upload

    So I guess its just one of those performance hits that I'll just have to live with, but seems high...

    if i read your sig right 1ghz?  That's waaay too for quick scanning.  I run 2.0 ghz or faster if i am going to use any kind of real-time malware scanning.

    So i gave up on this for a while but now i have updated my hardware with a core2 duo 3.0Ghz cpu and 2 gb ram. i have 2 dual Intel Pro 1000 and an internal Realtek for Internet.

    My current Internet Connection speed should be 40/10.

    Whith Transparent proxy off i get 41mbit download and 9.2 up (which is the same as connecting a pc direct to vdsl2 modem).

    With Transparent proxy on i get 22.1 down and 8 up.

    Something is really strange...

    Forgot to add that it's running the latest version 7.503 now
