Problem with Cobion Surf Protection II

Still I have the same problem, the new patch does not work either.

I am thinking of having the Cobion DB in local which will:
1. It will save my problem.
2. It will not eat something from the bandwdith.

    I can possible buy nearly the same but higher is obsurd.  You mean to tell me that referencing a DB offsite would be faster than if it stayed on your network.  No matter how fast your connection is, that is just not true. Some may not have as good of performance connecting to the DB as you do.  My point is to give the user the choice and choose which one would best suit your individual network.

    mmmh, no answer to the question? 
    We are going to migrate from v5 to v6 and I need the information if content filtering will work without an public IP on wan interface....

    hello lplanz,

    I installed ASG-Software without public wan IP and contentfiltering is working. Further the firewall needs internet access because Cobion use port 6000 to connect to the database.

    Dear Friends,

    My V5 never had the cobion protection. So I am using the version without cobion protection.

    I only touched the cobion protection with the version 6.101 when it is connected to a public IP.

    I don't know why ASTARO do not put the cobion protection in local database while most of us had huge harddisks (80GB) that will consume much bandwidth.

    To answer your question, yes you can use the content filtering if you are if you have a private IP.  That is how I'm configured right now.  I have two astaro boxes.  The one on the edge does the policy routing, DNAT and intrusion prevention.  The other astaro box is connected via a crossover cable and does the spyware and content filtering.  I had to separate it into two boxes because policy routing and content filtering do not play nicely. After working with astaro to try to remedy the problem on one box, I decided to separate the two. The performance is much better and I can now policy route.  The http proxy is in transparent mode and still has issues and my thoughts are with the cobion because when I turn off the proxy, performance increases.

    Will explain to me more about the policy routing in a new thread ?

    I never play with it, but I am going to have another internet connection, I would like to know how you deal with the 2 internet connections.
