no, I cannot see this in the log, but the Username and Password are exchanged using TCP Port 1723, after that the encrypted tunnel traffic is sent using IP Protocol 47 (GRE, not port 47). You might ask the firewall administrator at your university if he allows that type of traffic (at least the TCP traffic seems to get through), and maybe he will open that for you. Might also be that the NAT device he is using cannot deal with GRE, so I cannot help you too much.
