Does UTM do Equalizing?

Hi Folks!

We are facing the problem of some LAN connections jamming our WAN bandwidth.

So I am looking for Equalizing options that i.e. Netequalizer provides.

Please have a 6min look onto that video. Although the device would be in front of the UTM and behind our WAN router: Can you tell if the Sophos UTM does the same in the first row? We should be able to use what we have already. As written in a thread before we have QoS set up now but it is still not running properly.

    I watched the video Uwe linked to in Post #1.It looks like the primary difference is Behavior-Based Shaping compared to the UTM's more-granular, manually-configured approach.

    I like the ratio feature where QoS is only applied when a predefined percentage of bandwidth is reached. Other than that netequalizer looks like proprietary algorithm (unless its running linux???) mimicking good old hfsc fair queuing. 

    I also like viewing the bandwidth by IP approach instead of bandwidth by application like astaro uses. I had suggested during the beta to allow for  throttling individual client/IP via flow monitor where you can click on the application to see the clients and individually manipulate each client, but failed to persuade the devs[:P]
