Torrent setup

Okay im still a little shakey on how to set this up


so far ive set up in the firewall


computer -> tcp/udp 50581 -> any ip4
any ip4 -> tcp/udp 50581 -> computer


I've also setup a dnat

any -> tcp/udp 50581 -> external network
dest: computer


still I have nothing

Any ideas?

I don't think Dnat is the right destination becuase i might have multiple torrent clients on the network

    Sorry for the multiple posts. FWIW I ended up creating an exception to the IPS rules to skip UDP flood detection for UDP traffic on source port 56681 (the one I designated in deluged) and destination port 35033. My throughput went up 15 fold, which was nice.

    Though I am curious - anyone know why port 35033 is used when it's not the port I specified in deluged?

    Curiously, have you disabled the following snort rules under Intrusion Prevention -> Advanced -> Manual Rule Modification: 2180, 2181, 16281, 16282?

    No, I've not disabled any of that manually.

    Also, on a somewhat related note, I noticed that when I started few more torrents a few days later and the same thing happened, except this time everything was being directed to port 35033. Seems like the port keeps changing.

    I don't suppose there's an easy fix for this, short of disabling UDP flood protection (which I'd prefer not to do) is there? What I've been doing as a workaround is just adding an exception for the (apparently random) inbound port for each new torrent session.
