Torrent wont work in Astaro Home V8

Hi, 

Still issues. 

See attached screenshot of network and service definition and DNAT rule. No firewall rule added at the moment. 

My gateway is forwarding port 19810 and utorrent says connection is fine(green and saying incoming connection) 

Still my log show all traffic on port 19810 is default dropped.

Your DNAT source destination needs to be External (WAN) Address, not Network. 

Also, if you're using utorrent, that green network checkbox isn't really reliable, mine was green too while my ASG still hadn't opened the port for it. Go to Options > Setup Guide to run the network test to see if it's actually good. Alternatively, log into the ASG and go to Network Security > Firewall and open the live log and see if it's still dropping traffic destined to your utorrent port.

Also, don't forget an outgoing firewall rule.

You could properly set up DNAT and incoming firewall rule, but without an outgoing firewall rule,  you will fail a port forwarding check (due to outgoing being blocked) and your client will not connect (due to default drop since there is no rule allowing it out).

Since I have this set up as my home router I just allow any type of traffic from my network to any destination, why wouldn't this be enough? 

This makes me wonder, because I couldn't get my utorrent to upload right until I check the 'automatic firewall rule' on my DNAT rule even though I set up an incoming firewall rule to allow the traffic to my PC. 

Once I checked the automatic firewall rule, it worked and the firewall stopped dropping traffic destined to my utorrent port. But after reading your post I did the utorrent network test and it still won't acknowledge that the port is open in the results, but I know it is because after checking that box my upload immediately jumped from basically nothing to several hundred kbps and as I previously mentioned the firewall stopped dropping traffic destined there (reading the live log). 

Oh and another oddity, when I enabled RDP access to my PC I set it up the same way but I could never connect from the same network (going out of my ASG and back into it via an RDP connection to my public IP:[port]; this worked just fine with my D-Link router). However when I connected to my Verizon MiFi and tested it again it worked fine. Since my outbound firewall rule allows any traffic to any destination, any idea why it wouldn't allow this connection?

Just a guess on the drops - change the Host definition for your PC to have 'Interface: >'.  If you want more help, please [Go Advanced] below and attach pictures of the DNAT, Host and Service definitions.

To get an answer to your last question, search on internal server via external in the Astaro KnowledgeBase.

Can u help me with this.
I can download with utorrent.. but afther run a check say port is closed> no problem
But can u help with the settings to upload with utorrent...

automatic firewall rule: set

Sean, If you've checked your definitions for 'Interface: >' already, the only thing I can see is 'Destination service'.  When that is not changed, it should be left empty (blank).

Honestly, many people here know more about making Astaro work with uTorrent than I.

1. do you have Masquerading setup for your outgoing traffic

and 

2. do you have packetfilter rules allowing the traffic out?
Please post screenshots of the packetfilter rules and corresponding service definitions

This are my settings,, when Utorrent downloading my internet will be frozing.
And i still see drops for ad port 31658..
I use private torrent so i would like to download/upload 24/7 at full speed

ah yes the good old inet freezing upon torrenting...let me guess..marvel or realtek nic on your machine?

i have nvidia nforce network controller as primairy

and realtek 8185 as sec... but this one is not enabled
