Utorrent

Does anyone have any experience with setting up Utorrent to work with the astaro.

Current setup is: cable modem > astaro > linksys e1000 (AP) > desktop pc.

    Here is my setup with uTorrent.

    I setup two services
    uTorrentInBound / uTorrentOutBound
    type of dest. (TCP/UDP)
    dest. port (49200) / (8445:65534)
    src. port (1:65535)

    combine into a group definition called uTorrent Protocol, then create two PF rules.
    any --> uTorrent Protocol --> myPC (inbound traffic)
    myPC --> uTorrent Protocol --> any (outbound traffic)

    I also have a DNAT rule
    traffic src. (any)
    traffic srv. (uTorrent Protocol)
    traffic dst. (ext. WAN)
    dst. (myPC)

    BTW, I have myPC on a separate DMZ interface.

    OK. One suggestion, remove the destination port in the NAT rule.  (Leave it blank).

    I assume you have no blocking firewall on the actual PC?

    Would you mind sending me some screenshots of the Utorrent setup you have? Do you download at full speed or are you capped? By disabling Port scan I was able to achieve minimal speeds as you can see from the screenshot.

    What do you mean I have no blocking firewall on the PC? What I am noticing on my downloads is also it seems that I am downloading at those 300 speeds but I am not uploading anything. Could that cause an issue as well?

    I meant, does your PC have a firewall that might be blocking?

    Also, outbound traffic, check the live packet log on Astaro.  Are packets FROM your machine being blocked from exiting to the internet?

    No my PC does not have a firewall that would be blocking it other than Astaro. Ive been watching the logs since this morning and i did notice that both TCP and UDP packets coming from any external ip try to hit my ip on my utorrent port are dropped. Where do I fix this issue?

    Hi, what is port 44454 (from your packetfilter log)? 

    Your previous screenshots show you're using 36394, right?

    I switched my port from 36394 to 44454. I wanted to make sure it was the port that was causing the issue.

    Mine is working good i just created a rule with the port for in and out on tcp and udp  then looked under app controle and added bit torrent to the alow list
