Time-based access control [8.102]

I have run into an interesting issue, and I am hoping that I can get some help figuring out...

My son has an iPod Touch, and I want to control where he goes on the internet with the URL filtering.  I also don't want him staying up all night on the darn thing, so I want to control his network access after 9PM (as in no internet access at all).

So I do the following:
1) Define a time period called "Daytime" from 8AM to 9PM.
2) Create a static DHCP reservation in my home server for the iPod
3) Create an object in ASG using the assigned IP
4) Enable and configure the URL proxy
5) Create two firewall rules - the first says if in "Daytime" allow access to permitted applications, the second is drop-all from the iPod

Now here's where it gets interesting.  If I enable the URL filter in transparent mode, he can get to the internet outside of the "Daytime" period because the URL filter seems to override the firewall rules (!!!!!!).  If I disable the proxy, the traffic is immediately dropped.

So, how do I pull this off, to keep my kids offline during certain time periods, and safe when they are?

     the earlier v7 it worked
      I seem to recall that the switch from Squid to Astaro proxy came about early in the 7.x line.  I could go digging through the the u2d announcements on the blog, but can't be bothered.  [:)]  That's probably when the function was lost, since a different proxy was being used.  Do you have a feature request for this to be added back?  I'll add a point to it if you can post the link.

    The feature would be useful to a lot of people.

    I will hunt through my feature requests and see what has happened to it.

    NP.  I'd give you more, but I only have 2 atm until one or more of my requests gets more points from others or changes status to accepted or under review.  Yes, I move around points strategically.  I think they should add a new status category:  "Hell No!!!".  Would allow me to free up points from things that will never be added.  [:)]

    don't you ever sleep?

    I found that some-one had started a new feature request for the application control, I have just added 3 votes to it. My review of the feature request forum is a little old. Like you I had to wait until a couple of features were either killed or completed to get some votes back.
