WebAdmin memory leak?

There seems to be a direct relationship between how long a web admin session lasts and a slow build in memory usage. I frequently leave the dashboard open for long periods of time and I've noticed that the system memory usage slowly builds over the hours. If I close the page for a while, like 10 or 15 minutes, and log in again the usage will have dropped dramatically but it slowly starts building up again. Can anyone else replicate this?

I did search before posting this and I didn't find any similar reports. Also not sure if this is the right place for this; sorry.

    Yes- we are aware of this one  and working on it.

    I would be remiss in my role of security curmudgeon if I didn't point out that IMHO the security implications of leaving webadmin open for extended sessions is a bigger concern than the quickly recoverable memory use issue.

    Hi ,

    Saw the same problem here with new fresh install of 8.002 on a 320 cluster.
    When the browser stays open the memory grow the same  like a wave.
    With all browser The same way, I tested Chrom , Safari , IE , Mozilla.
    The most important is thet sometimes even if the webadmin is set to close itself after amount of seconds it does not do it.
    This will lead to two things : A huge security hole , and A leak of memory that will lead to use also lots of swap.

    Gil,

    If you leave webadmin on the dashboard view, it will not automatically logout. This is a feature, and by design. If you leave webadmin on any other screen, it will automatically logout after the configured time.

    I can confirm that this happens on my ASG 120. Both with 7.507 and 8.002. It's the same wwwrun process hosting webadmin that is to blame.

    Looks like this may have been fixed with 8.003. I just left the dashboard open overnight for about 10+ hours to test and the memory usage has remained within 0.4% of when I opened it.

    8.003 seems no fix. I needed to go two days ago and I left my desktop session open and locked. I couldn't go to my office as I needed to work at our remote campus, and my PC was running with webadmin opened. See the attachment. within two days mem usage jumped from %27 to %68 [:)]

    This is most unusual. I'm certain the problem was gone for a long time. I would leave the dashboard open for several hours or more without any appreciable increase. Now the problem is back. I rebooted the ASG machine 9 days ago, other than that I've only added a couple static IP mappings, renamed a the NICs/Interfaces, and changed the timeout for the automatic log off.

    I can confirm with v8.003 I am seeing the same problem. A slow build-up in memory use when the dashboard is left open.

    I've just closed the dashboard and will try again shortly to see if the memory has reduced.

    EDIT: After a 10 minute or so wait, index.plx took 100% CPU for a few seconds, then terminated. Re-opening the dashboard showed a normal amount of memory use again (around 20% instead of 75% just now).
