Turn Off Archiving

Is there a method through the command line to disable all log archiving but maintain all other functionality? Normally I keep logs for three days. Being I use astaro at home the archives are not used. Also what is the URL for requesting features?

    I have attached two bit map files. One showing todays log files. The secornd showing the archived log file, the action I would like to disable. Currently the logs are set to be kept for one day.

    Interesting.  That looks like WebAdmin thinks it has deleted all files prior to March 6.

    Just confirming, Jim, that when you CD into /var/log/http/2010/02, and ls, you see logfiles. If those files are still on the hard drive, then I'd say you have unearthed a bug!

    I think 'one day' means today and yesterday, hence the archive of yesterday's log.

    I don't think that's a bug.

    If you want to request it as a feature that logs not be kept more than 24 hours, please see Astaro Gateway Feature Requests
    However, I don't see how that would be practically implemented.

    Guys,

    Astaro thinks there is only one day of logs because I reloaded the software. What I am seeking is to have the ability to disable log archiving completely. Right now the box is configured to keep logs one day. Being there is no way from the GUI to disable archiving I was asking for a command line work around. By using command line to disable the archiving there may be no need for requesting a new feature.

    You could create a cronjob to delete the archives.
    There's a post in one of the dyndns threads about creating your own cronjobs (it's special in Astaro).
