[7.500] Problems with Access Control in WebAdmin Settings

- Upgraded a working config from 7.405 to 7.500 but the WebAdmin Settings->Access Control menu was quiet empty: no windows for Allowed Administrator, Auditors and networks (ScreenShot81.jpg)!?
- Ok, fresh installation from scratch (without update): Created a group 'AdmGroup' mapped to an adminstrators group on our AD (as I already had in my old config). But I wasn't able to add this group to the Allowed Administrators. I could move the group to the window but it didn't fit in and moved back after Apply. (ScreenShot080.jpg)
- Just renaming the group to 'GroupAdm' helped!
- Restoring my updated config, renaming the group and the menu were back as well!

However, for me it seems to be a bug.

Cheers,
Michael

  • My guess is that you didn't have the problem you thought you did.  I think the re-install just forced your browser to reload some items that it had "lost."  I reported a bug with the new WebAdmin engine where portions of some pages don't appear until after clearing the browser cache.  After you clear the cache, the WebAdmin engine forces a reload and everything is fine.

  • Known Issue - bug id #11379. fixed in 7.501
  • I think it's really a bug because I can reproduce it by renaming the group back to 'AdmGroup' and it doesn't matter if I use IE or Firefox.

    Cheers,
    Michael
  • Olm, when do you think 7.501 might be released (if you're privy to such information)?

I heard 7.501  will be available end of next week or at latest in 2 weeks from now.

For the temporary workaround to fix the issue you need a bit vi-editor knowhow, if you have it and want to fix it, send me a PN, I don´t want to post it here in the forum.
  • Thanks Olm, up2date.astaro.com mentions the update coming out next week... we'll advise our users to wait for that.

  • I've just upgraded to 7.501 but the problem is still there...!?
  • I have the same problem just upgraded to 7.501 but the problem persists.

    Is there resolution for this

    Thanks

      Kirsten
  • Kirsten, have you tried to flush your browser cache?  Several of us here have reported a situation where, just after an upgrade to 7.5, there was something that didn't appear.  One of the folks did a re-install to fix that; I flushed the cache.  If that doesn't resolve your issue, please tell us which browser and version you are using.
