550 x smtp

Hello ASG-World,

if the smtp proxy auf the ASG 7.009 is aktivated, the ASG said to me: 550 ... Inbound messages are refused. Behind the asg is a Lotus Domino Server 5. How does the proxy work ? Asks he the Domino server etc ?

You have to define your email domain(s) in E-Mail security -> SMTP -> Global SMTP settings and your Notes server in "internal server".

Hi Alex,

I made 2 screenshots - see the attachments and found two articles in this case:

Do NOT create either a packetfilter rule, nor a NAT to forward emails. You will effectively bypass or "jump over" the SMTP proxy and its services.

But I have a nat rule to the "dmz" with the domino Server. I think i have to test it without the nat rule + smtp Proxy ...

I tried it without a nat rule and the smpt Proxy (transparent or not) - it does not work. I guess the domino server ist bad to me.

Have you tried disabling the transparent mode?

Are you talking about inbound or outbound mails?

Look into the LiveLog, what does it say?

Thanks for your your help - but never trust anyone. Who knows after that it turns out that behind the nick "alasc" is Mr Innenminister Schäuble 8)

I will give it to our official "service provider" - it will cost nothing, because it was a component of a contract.
