ASL V5006 SMTP PROXY NOT LET ME SEND EMAIL

I am a newbie so please be easy on me.

First i set up all the proxies and the NAT.

The NAT is in masquerade.

The http proxie is in transparent mode
The pop3 proxie has virus and spam scan enabled

I don't have an internal mail server. All my mail servers are hosted. How do I set up the smtp proxie to scan and then deliver my mail to the outside smtp server.

Everything else works great.

Also I set up the packet filtering to allow all packets out of internal network to external network.

Please help

    Actually, there are all kinds of good reasons to scan your "own" mail traffic.  Someone brings an infected laptop into the office, or a machine that is infected makes a VPN connection to your network, or someone just opens up that spiffy little attachment they've gotten that has it's own mailer...

    More importantly if all your mail traffic is handled by the proxy, it lets you block SMTP traffic at the firewall so you don't have rouge SMTP servers sending mail from your network.  If it is mail, it got scanned.  If one of your machines gets infected with an virus/worm/trojan that uses its own SMTP server for propegation, you've contained it.  No embarassing e-mail to the world telling them not to open the pervious e-mail.

    but how does asl now that it must use smarthost x for sender x and smarthost y for sender y??
    and if i add more smarthostst do i add user[:P]ass the same way. i mean sperated with ";" ?

    i have 3 pop accounts :
    @gmx.de; @gmx.net; nefkom.net
    i want to use the als smtp proxy
    i enter the als´s ip as smarhost in my mailclient as outgoing server for the gmx.de account. 
    but how do i tell the proxy to use mail.gmx.net as smarthost only if the sender is @gmx.de. and how does the authentication work.
    and what about the other 2 accounts?
    how to configure them?

    You dont have to put the password or username for any of them. Just configure your clients smtp server to be the lan interface of the asl box.
