    That will sound very good when explaining my clients that the jump from 9.31x to 9.5 is not very important.

    As Alan actually described, this is a new feature branch, not a maintenance release...Otherwise wait for the maintenance version like 9.316 or above...


    I couldn't find that info in Alan's post, that two separate branches of UTM versions will be maintained from now ?

    So just to get things right ...
    1. It's an feature release not a maintenance release. 
    2. It's a small feature release and therefore called 9.35 and not 9.4 and therefore there is no Beta phase.
    3. There will be maintenance releases for 9.31x (e.g. 9.316, 9.317)

    I hope that helps to clarify and answer some questions.

    We periodically need to update the appcontrol engine, to support newer detection techniques. this is just a regular update to the engine, which should generally make application detection more accurate.

    really, the communication fault lies with me, as I didn't proactively start a thread on the new update, when it was first posted to the FTP site. As I mentioned, this is a new type of update for us - at least from a philosophical and a numbering standpoint, so confusion and misunderstanding are to be expected, in the absence of definitive information.
