    I'll be a bit of a contrarian here.  V5 made us very careful before recommending Up2Dating.  My clients haven't gotten bitten by bugs since then.  You will see by the following that my experience is that things have improved under Sophos...

    I don't remember when we went to 6.x.  In V7, the first version I Up2Dated all clients to was 7.305.  With V8, it was 8.203, after the Sophos merger.  With V9, it was 9.103, then 9.205.  It's too early to put 9.3 into production.

    WTF is going on with this company? I'm 15 days into evaluating a SG125 and I guess I'm one of the "lucky" few. I know, wait a minute Sophos, is this some kind of sick initiation going on here with all new pledges? Ha ha ha, good one, you got me.

    Should have known better than to just be blindly clicking Up2Date, but coming from 10 years of my current UTM's track record, I had this crazy notion that a security company isn't going to be pushing anything down that hasn't been thoroughly vetted.

    And just how exactly does Sophos think I'm going to be evaluating this gear for suitable real world use in production? Ding Ding Ding... that's right guys, it's IN PRODUCTION! Gee, lurnin' stuff shur iz fun.

    Today I get this email...

    [WARN-161] RPM Database is corrupted

    RPM Database is corrupted, attempting to rebuild it.

    Now picture this, I'm brand new here, don't know what it means (I'm guessing this sucks), find out what I can on here, but don't see any answers on how to fix it.

    So I run rpm -qa

    Same two errors (above) as OP, but again, I'm flying blind here, are these normal errors and the attempted rebuild was a success? Don't know. According to Tinkerbell I should have gotten another message indicating as such. I haven't. So now what?

    Sophos is making my Symantec Enterprise Endpoint Protection look good. (I think I just threw up a little in my mouth typing that).

    Hey Sophos, here's a feature request for you... on the Up2Date page make a [BAlfson] button to check with first before I download your POS code. I've certainly got a lot more confidence in him than your company and I just got here.

    I must admit that we also stopped up2dating every new release as soon as it is available. we also wait 4 to 5 minor releases before doing so in a batch updating process. this time we had all updates on the machine until 9.209 so we though, yeah now its time to update from 9.111 (which ran damn stable!) to 9.209 to get the new ATP feature but sadly i pressed "Update to latest version" (which alwys updated to latest downloaded package (9.209 in my case, got a screenshot prooving that) but sadly it updated to the newest GA (Beta!) 9.300-5....thank you sophos....NOT! As iam german i would say: "Now we have the salad!" IPS stopped working correctly and killed some customers calls over VPN....yeah, i dont have anything else to do than fixing sophos utm bugs....

    Please turn back to good old well tested packages so we get more confident again with updating packages!

    Instead of pushing new features over new features, the currently available features should be stable and bugfixed! Since 3 or 4 versions you aren't able to change your TLS certificate for SMTP Proxy, okay, you can change it, but it always jumps back to the WebAdmin Certificate. But who needs an external signed TLS certificate?! ... In my company we also changed our update policy and are at least one minor version behind the current available.

    Those aren't errors, those are the names of the packages.

    The UTM has a script '/usr/local/bin/rpmdb_check' which will run an integrity check on the DB.

    If you keep getting corruption, you may have bad hardware.

    have to disagree on the hardware error.  I have two utms doing this after the latest up2date..one is a vm(mine) and the other is the sg210.  if i had bad hardware on EITHER i would have other indications looooong before the up2date.  I think there's a serious bug in the latest up2date.

    i've never seen an rpm with error in the filename unless it WAS corrupted..

    So where does this leave me guys. Am I up? Down? Somewhere in the middleware? Is there a way to check? Supposed to be a script that emailed me repair status, never came.

    Hello together,

    yesterday I got the updates to 9.3x via Up2date. And I saw both updates: 9.300 and 9.301.

    If you klick on "Update to latest version" you get 9.301. But if you look a bit later on the Up2date page of the UTM there are both updates listed and you have the choice. I decided to do the update in two steps for having the possibility to get a configuration backup of all releases.

    Now I'm on 9.301 and everything looks fine. But as home user I don't use all features.
