Hardware suggestions for HomeUser firewall

Hello everyone
I have one virtualized UTM running at my current home but I am also planning to have one on a second location I live

Any suggestions for check hardware that does the job?

It should be low energy, 3 NiCs (two would work too using VLAN), silent (WAF required ) and of course support activation off all UTM features (+ future new features), so not too slow.

The WAN connection is 100MBit/s+ down and 6MBit/s+ up.

I'd like the hardware to do the job as quietly and energy efficient as possible

Also I like to test a lot of features and therefore would use most of the features on the UTM

Looking forward to hearing what you guys use at home

    non-T might be an option I guess...but case is still a question.
    CPU speeds are quite alike (T-models are around 3GHz while same-model non-T are about 400MHz faster). Does that really make that difference?

    How about the Atheros there?

    Case is between the Akasa (Euler or Galileo) which both only support Thin Mini-ITX and the FC8 Evo which is significantly more expensive but allows Mini ITX as well as non-T models

    Any suggestions on something less "media center" than the Steacom that would also support non-T?
    This way I could go for the non-T model and later upgrade the NICs using a Dual-NIC if required

    Edit: http://www.hd-plex.com/hdplex-h1-series/ might also be an option. With 65W TDP and support for both Thin and Standard Mini-ITX

    Also what is about the current quad core Atoms?

    Last I checked, the Atheros NICs are still not supported by the UTM (I have one of the Gigabyte boards with an Intel and an Atheros).

    Most Realteks will work but performance will be poorer. 
    I've heard the Atheros NICs don't perform well either on other systems. (I thought they might be good as their WiFi NICs were excellent at one time).

    New Atoms will be slower than i3, but should be OK for 100mbps. For faster speeds, go with fast i3 or better.

    Cases: I'm still happy with my Fractal Design Node 304; very quiet with fans on medium or low.

    I bought a Dual-LAN Jetway:  Jetway HBJC311U93W-2930-B Next Unit of Computing (NUC) Barebone

    Adding on 4GB of RAM and a 128GB mSATA, it cost $335.  I just brought it online running a UTM Home license.  So far, so good!

    Could you do a speed test with "all features on" using netperf or sth equivalent?
