Concurrent IP counter

Hey there,

Currently I am using a temporary license for unlimited IP addresses, so the tab Active IP addresses under licensing just tells me 'Your license allows for unlimited IP addresses.'

I'd like to know how many concurrent IP addresses are active so I can figure out which license I have to buy. Does anyone know where I can see the active IP addresses?

    AFAIK you can watch the IP counter in the console.

    Thanks for your reply, just been looking through the topic but can't really find any information I need. The info is more about resetting the counter instead of showing the counter.

    OK, once you're in the console, type CC to switch to the configuration console.
    Then type "licensing", after that type "active_ips@".
    Once you're there, type "=[]" and you will get an output like "result=?"
    And the "?" is your answer ;-)

    But be aware, any modifications done by root in the console will void your support!
    For configuration CHANGES, please use WebAdmin.

    Hey there again [:D]
    I just checked up the counter again and it still tells me:   result: 1
    I am quite sure there are more IPs connected through the firewall.
    What is going on on my server? Can anyone explain or help me out on this one?

    From the CLI as root you can do 'count_active_ip.plx --showcount' which will force the counter to tell you. Hope that helps.

    Thank you, this seems to work better! Although I only see active IP addresses from the same subnet the UTM is in and not any IPs from any workstations [:S]

    I have the same problem. With cc mode it shows only 1 IP and with this script, the result is 0

    count_active_ip.plx --showcount
     count_active_ip: checking active IP addresses
    Active IP addresses:
    Totals: IPv4: 0 IPv6: 0

    I would like to get this value via SNMP, but there doesn't seem to be an entry for that in the MIB tree, if I'm not mistaken. Any suggestions? I would like to record that value externally without having to log into the appliance.
