ASG220 rev 5 upgrade ?

Wow.  Why you get a 220?  You have the wrong box for 200 users.  You really need to be at the ASG320 unit or larger.  You need to revisit the sizing chart.  I am afraid even with 4Gb of ram you are gonna sink that box.

I have upgraded the RAM in a ASG220 to 4Gb.  It makes it run very well but if you ever send it back make sure to put the original RAM in it.

As for a hard drive the options the ASG220.  This unit is low level enough that I dont think you have a raid option.  And for HD options unless you ghost it to a new drive you are stuck with the drive you have.

And of course before you do anything make sure you check with Sophos so you dont mess up your warranty.

 How to upgrade ram by my self ? Rev5 could be upgraded with any vendor ram? 
We have still license for 220 it will be not so cheep to upgrade box to asg320 + license upgrade.
 I was using asg220 rev1 512ram for ages, but without web protection, upgraded box to get utm9 and to enable web protection. Tech spec on sophos webpage says 80-300 users on asg220, hard to test performance before you can get box...

I see the link you are looking at.  That is a little misleading.  As you add on subs the number of users the unit can handle goes down.  You are basically running Full Guard and 200+ users.  You will sink the box with that many users.  You really need to be in a 320.  Talk to your reseller or if you are in the USA I can talk to you more offline.

As for the memory you will have to pull it out and verify the speed of it.  Match up with a local reseller on RAM.  There is no upgrade kit available from Sophos.

Please let us know what happens and how Sophos handles this.

  Looks like cpu usage is below 20%, most around 7%. Looks like unofficial ram upgrade to 4GB could help, ram is really cheap these days...

Basically, subscriptions for the 220 cost the same as those for 100-IP software.  Those for the 320 are double the price for the 220.  Subscriptions for the 320 cost the same as 250-IP software subscriptions.

If CPU usage is that low, then maybe you have a low-use situation and will be OK.

Be very, very careful about adding RAM.  Several years ago, Astaro offered RAM upgrades for some units.  About 10% of the people damaged their appliance in the process, and Astaro Support was flooded with cases.  They also lost a ton of money replacing all of the broken units.  This is why they're so strict about RAM replacement now.

You might be OK by leaving Application Control off.  Turning off Intrusion Prevention gains a lot of RAM.  Make sure that you're using only one anti-virus engine in both Mail and Web.

Already all AV scan settings to single engine. 
Strange but, from 50 to ~200 users it uses only 10-13% more ram, now around 80%. But no active smtp proxy usage... Maybe will go without ram upgrade.
