8.300 firmware

Hi,
I installed 8.3 (on Astaro 320) yesterday and after that my security company could not get our videos + the file download speed from the internet is very very slow, 71MB file now takes 1hr-15minutes while if I remove astaro 320 its only 45 seconds.

 Fix [18581]: QoS limits maximum packet size to 2047
 Fix [18600]: Websec reporting: scheduled reports are always empty
 Fix [18728]: SMTP Proxy can't send any email when special characters in BATV secret
 Fix [19887]: Using Interface bound ANY Object (e.g. Internet IPv4) in network list will cause other entries not to match

Either the any rule FIX is causing trouble, or QoS, not sure.

    We've not seen any performance related issues with the 8.300 release here -- I would suggest opening a support case with Astaro, since it sounds like you have a commercially licensed system there.

    I am talking about the use of Astaro 320 appliance and Astaro 220 appliance on a live network here.  Astaro 320 was updated with the firmware while 220 not.  The performance on Astaro 320 has gone from 100% throughput to 0%, causing problems now with my switch shutting down the ports.  Yes thannks I have contacted the pre sale support and they have suggested to pull back the new firmware from 8.3 to the previous version and the steps to this is going to take long time.   Astaro should have checked thoroughly before sending this firmware in the market.

    8.3 had been tested very well. And I would say it is a stable release.

    Lets be practical.  I just downgraded to version 8.202 and things are working very fine.  This upgrade installation and downgrade are all observed and weldone on a live network.  I am with a sophos team from US and I will post what needs to done once you install 8.3.

    The following problems occured while I upgrade to 8.3 firmware
    -The port on my switch cisco 2960 where Astaro 320 was connected produced lots of errors.  The switch cisco auto shut down that port saying the port is err-disabled, I had to shut and then no shut.  After a while it does the same thing.
    -The download speed on internet file downloads took forever, a 71.9 MB file was downloaded in 1hr-15min
    -My security company could not see our premises from their cameras.
    Yesterday I had to downgrade to 8.202 and put my config from 8.202 to make Astaro and my Swicth happy.  Things are normal now.  I have been advised not to install 8.300 will the time Astaro fixes these issues.

    A recent thread indicates that you probably just needed to clear the ARP table on the Cisco, or set the MAC addresses in the Astaro 8.300.  Astaro should have included that information in the release notes!

    This is now making sense instead of too technical info from Astaro.  Is it confirmed that after the upgrade to 8.300 I have to either clear the ARP on my switch cisco 2960 OR Assign a new MAC to the Astaro 320 LAN link? I am still working with firmware 8.202 and it has no problems.

    i've also had issues with OWA - it is extremely slow to access from outside, everything else with the email works fine!  Any ideas what could be causing it to be so slow?

    Otherwise, I would also be going back to 8.203 version.

    Amanzoor - how long did it take you to go from 8.300 to 8.203 and restore your back config file?  I'm new to Astaro and hence why i am asking. Do i need to restore to factory default and then install 8.203 firmware before uploading my file? Is this done through the command line interface or can I just press reset factory default on the front panel, access the Astaro and then install new firmware? Would i need to install my licenses again or are they part of the configuration file which i backed up?

    Please advise. Many thanks in advance!

    We've had numerous complaints from customers after updating to 8.300, including problems with AD groups in web content profiles resolving properly after working in previous version, workstations dropping off a network in another, and this morning I've received another complaint that I'm still investigating. 

    This 8.300 release has generated more complaints than I can remember.

    Jon, what has Astaro Support said about the AD Groups issue?

    What do you mean by "workstations dropping off a network?"

    We've had a couple issues, but nothing as serious as it sounds like hit your customers.
